26FILMS | Founder Bio - Nathalie Marciano

Nathalie Marciano
Nathalie Marciano is an entrepreneur and creative producer whose work spans fashion, film, and the contemporary art world, unified by a deep commitment to storytelling and cultural dialogue. She is the founder of 26 Films, a production company focused on developing and producing films with purpose, depth, and impact.
Marciano began her career in fashion as one of the founders of Charles David, a family business she built alongside her father. The footwear brand became widely recognized across the United States for its design, craftsmanship, and distinct point of view. In 1996, she was honored by the CFDA as Best Shoe Designer of the Year, an early recognition of her creative vision and influence.
She later moved into film, initially producing narrative projects, including comedies, which gave her a strong foundation in storytelling and production. Over time, her perspective evolved, drawing her toward stories with greater depth and meaning.
In parallel, Marciano deepened her involvement in the contemporary art world, working closely with artists, galleries, and collectors, while remaining closely connected to the film industry. She sees film as one of the most powerful artistic mediums, capable of bridging disciplines and perspectives.
Marciano is also a driving force behind a think tank at the Institute, where she brings together artists, filmmakers, and thought leaders across disciplines. Through these gatherings, she fosters meaningful conversations, creative exchange, and collaboration, reinforcing her commitment to staying deeply connected to the cultural landscape and the voices shaping it.
Today, through 26 Films, Marciano is focused on documentary filmmaking as a way to tell stories that matter. She is committed to projects that explore meaningful and often urgent subject matter, with the belief that documentary offers a uniquely powerful way to illuminate truth, foster understanding, and create real impact.
At the core of Nathalie Marciano’s work is a singular vision: to connect people, ideas, and disciplines through storytelling, and to champion work that is both culturally relevant and deeply impactful.
