Diagnosed with a rare degenerative condition, Chloe is on a long list to receive a double lung transplant. Paul Stanton (Dermot Mulroney ), a rising district attorney in Santa Fe, N.M. and his wife Diane (Diane Kruger) search for a donor in a race against time that takes Paul across the Mexican border to Juárez. He is repeatedly beaten up and robbed, as he travels from one seedy clinic to another looking for an elusive doctor rumored to traffic in illegally obtained organs. Paul narrowly escapes death several times to save his daughters life.
